About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Assistant to join our team in supporting an autistic young lady who lives at home with her family.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with autism, epilepsy, and non-verbal communication. They will be responsible for providing personalized support to enable the individual to attend the ARC in Dumfries on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical and epilepsy training to ensure the individual's needs are met
  • Accompany the individual to the ARC and participate in activities
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment
  • Collaborate with the family and other professionals to ensure seamless care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in social care or support services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and caring nature
  • A valid driving license (preferable)
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time position requiring 21 hours per week over a 3-day period, with no weekend work required. The salary for this role is £12 per hour, making it an attractive opportunity for those seeking a fulfilling and secure career.
