About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional anaesthetist to join our team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust as a Highly Specialist Anaesthetist with expertise in Obstetric Anaesthesia. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take on new challenges and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary

This is a 10 Programme Activity (PA) post including on-call duties and Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs). With mutual agreement, it can be extended to 12 PAs. As a Highly Specialist Anaesthetist, you will work closely with colleagues to provide comprehensive anaesthetic services to patients across various surgical specialties.

Main Responsibilities

  • To participate in the general on-call anaesthesia service covering both New Cross Hospital and Cannock Chase Hospital.
  • To develop and maintain skills in regional anaesthesia, ensuring safe and timely delivery of services benefiting both patients and the organisation.
  • To take lead in decision-making about the suitability of high-risk patients and manage regional anaesthesia services effectively.
  • To co-operate with other consultant anaesthetists to cover annual, study, and professional leave, as well as deputise for absent colleagues when necessary.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • CCT in anaesthesia within 6 months of interview, FRCA or equivalent qualification, and at least 6 months advanced training in Regional Anaesthesia or equivalent experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • MRCP or equivalent qualification and ALS certification or equivalent.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is £85,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive benefits package, including excellent training and development opportunities.
