Tax Director for Mergers and Acquisitions

Aon's Mergers & Acquisitions team (AMATS) is seeking a Tax Director to join their market leading EMEA tax team.

The successful candidate will support the design, structuring, and placement of complex insurance programs and innovative solutions in high-quality transactions through the use of insurance capital. Such solutions might in an M&A context, include removing barriers to deals by transferring identified tax risks to the insurance market, or might involve risk transfer in a business-as-usual (i.e. non transaction) context.

The Tax Director will, over time, assist the Aon EMEA tax team with innovation to expand the universe of insurable risks.

This is an interesting role for a chartered accountant with experience in M&A tax or a tax lawyer wanting to make a move to the business side and a more commercial, client-focused role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with the EMEA tax team to drive placement efficiencies and strategic insurer engagements through managing the delivery of high-quality client service and deliverables across the UK & EMEA.
  • Executing on and refining a comprehensive broking strategy across the UK & EMEA and implementing it through the Aon internal network in each country.
  • Building and developing strong internal and external networks to unlock client opportunities and facilitate the delivery of exceptional client service, including assisting with the preparation and delivery of pitches and market update presentations to clients.
  • Working with the regional AMATS CEOs, Financial Lines leads, Chief Broking Officers and Regional AMATS Champions, to proactively identify and target large PE and Infrastructure opportunities to maximize our commercial position.
  • Working with Aon colleagues, driving the development of new innovative solutions including developing valuable and timely content applicable to both clients and the broader AMATS team.

The growth of AMATS Globally will create opportunities for career progression with the potential to move into leadership roles, take on greater responsibility, own and drive initiatives either within financial lines or the wider team.

Transactional tax experience would be highly advantageous.
