Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Collection and Delivery Driver to join our team at Royal Mail Group. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering parcels and packages to households and businesses across the UK.

About the Role

You will be based at our Basingstoke depot and will be responsible for planning your delivery route, carrying out safety checks on your vehicle, and collecting and delivering parcels to customers. You will work closely with our operations team to ensure that all deliveries are made on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute delivery routes to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Carry out safety checks on vehicles before each journey
  • Collect and deliver parcels to households and businesses across the UK
  • Work closely with the operations team to resolve any issues or concerns

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full UK manual driving licence covering up to 7.5 tonnes (Cat C1)
  • No more than 6 penalty points on your licence
  • The ability to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

Benefits

  • An estimated salary of £32,500 per annum, including excellent benefits (based on a 38 hour full-time week with overtime)
  • A starting salary of £24,000 (£12.00 per hour) increasing to £26,400 (£13.20 per hour), on completion of 6 month probation period
