Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and ambitious Children's Service Manager to join our team at Eden Children Services, based in the Cuddington area. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own home within our residential childcare service, providing care and therapeutic support for children and young people aged 8-17 years.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior or team leader in residential childcare to progress their career and develop new skills. As a key member of our management team, you will be supported to manage your own home, developing high standards of care and supervision of Therapeutic Support Workers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deputise in the absence of the Home Manager
  • Be actively involved in team development and training
  • Supervise Therapeutic Support Workers
  • Assist the Home Manager in day-to-day duties
  • Assist in maintaining high standards of care
  • Provide exceptional levels of care when required
  • Supervise staff on your shift line
  • Assist with supervision
  • Communicate effectively and build strong relationships that empower children and young people to grow and develop
  • Ensure that the environment is safe, supportive, and enjoyable
  • Help develop learning and social skills wherever possible
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in Residential Childcare, preferably in a similar role
  • A Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) and be prepared to do Level 5
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to drive (company cars when on shift)
  • Resilience under pressure and ability to cope in stressful situations
  • A creative and supportive approach to meet the needs of the children and young people
  • Ability to work on a rota pattern including weekends and bank holidays
