We are seeking a skilled Test Rig Technician to join our team at TQR Consultancy Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our test rigs, performing fault diagnosis and repairs, and maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Attend courses and toolbox talks as required.
- Record all activities on our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure all work performed is in compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policy.
- Prioritize workload to ensure prompt response to breakdowns and completion of planned maintenance tasks.
- Carry out and record routine oil cleanliness checks on all production test rigs.
- Maintain test rig oil cleanliness filter systems to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
- Organize routine calibration of all production test rig master instrumentation.
- Work within 5S standards to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of test rigs.
- Maintain a list of critical spares for all rigs to minimize downtime in the event of failure.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide training to operators as necessary.
- Ensure fixturing and equipment is fit for purpose and reworked/replaced as needed.
- Maintain the fitting and hose life register to ensure all fittings/hoses are logged, checked, and changed in accordance with life requirements.
- Work to the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedule, including hydraulic, electric, and cooling water systems.
- Monitor oil consumption of each test rig and record improvements achieved through 5S activities.
- Monitor and fix leaks, ensuring regular housekeeping of test booths and pumps rooms to reduce risk of slips, trips, and falls.
- Ensure motor test specifications are loaded to test rigs in a timely manner.
- A Mechanical Engineering qualification and/or recognized Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Recent experience in a similar role with exposure to mechanical engineering and experience of hydraulic pressure systems.
- Working knowledge of pumps, motors, hoses, and threads.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- SAP knowledge, along with some working experience of AutoCAD and good literacy of Microsoft Office suite.
- A disciplined individual with the ability to work under own initiative or as part of a team.
- A willingness and flexibility to learn new skills.
- Knowledge and experience of Electrical Engineering.
- BFPA training in Hydraulics.
