Position Overview

The Senior Education Technology Manager will report to the Director of IT, advising on education technology and executing its development globally while supporting the TTS business. This role will manage relationships with education technology providers, collaborate closely with Product and e-Learning teams overseeing customer-facing LMS, data dashboard, and other solutions. The ETSM will lead efforts to translate business requirements into technology needs and specifications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management - Manage education technology IT vendors, including evaluation, contract negotiation, directory maintenance, and renewals.
  • Moodle Development and Administration
    • Knowledge of customizing Moodle
    • Experience with installing plugins and developing custom plugins
    • Integrating with 3rd party applications and tools via API
    • Managing software development and testing
    • Maintain Moodle environments' daily operations, architecture, and development
  • Other Education Technology - Manage existing systems, including upgrades, enhancements, and integrations. Recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • General System Architecture Knowledge and Management - Research and advise on best tools, software, and IT elements to achieve business objectives. Manage integrations between dependent applications and software.
  • Security and Privacy - Include Security and Data Privacy in all projects, ensuring compliance with evolving CCPA and GDPR standards.
  • Identifying Business Requirements and Formulating the Technology Roadmap - Work with the Product executive team to drive the education technology roadmap and release schedule.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions Integrations - Participate in TTS's acquisition evaluation and subsequent integration.
  • Executing and Collaborating on Strategic Plans - Advise Leadership on the direction for education technology.
  • Developing Functional Specifications - Transpose gathered business requirements into functional specifications, delivering prototypes, documenting business rules and use cases.
  • Validating Delivered Functionality - Ensure technology delivered by a vendor meets business requirements, documenting changes if necessary.
  • Overseeing Delivery - Collaborate with users to ensure education technology systems meet stakeholders' needs.

Requirements

We seek an experienced professional with 5-7 years in software development or managing various client-facing education technology, possessing strong work ethic, self-motivation, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with a small technical team, eager for continual learning, and enjoys contributing to an entrepreneurial environment.
