Role Overview
Bluebird Care is seeking a dedicated Care and Support Associate to join our team. As a Care and Support Associate, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our customers in the comfort of their own homes.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate individual who can provide safe, reliable, and person-centered care to our customers. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to promoting the dignity and well-being of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide non-discriminatory care and support that values the whole person rather than merely seeing a list of care needs.
- To carefully listen and observe how each customer prefers their care and support to be delivered on a day-to-day basis and help them make their own decisions so they can be as independent as possible.
- To follow the instructions in the care and support plan agreed with each customer, including all aspects of personal care, assisting with medicines, supporting customers to eat and drink well, and performing household tasks.
- To record and report all relevant customer information, including changes to a customer's condition or other concerns, responses to emergencies, accidents, incidents, and safeguarding matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A general understanding of the needs of people who require care and support.
- Respect for the rights of our customers and an understanding of the importance of giving the best possible care and support centered on the individual needs and wishes of each customer.
- The ability to listen, communicate clearly, and build positive working relationships with customers, their families, Bluebird Care staff, and other social and healthcare professionals.
- The ability to give care and support to customers with all aspects of their daily living, respecting their dignity, privacy, and choices, being non-judgmental, and promoting their independence.
Benefits
As a Care and Support Associate at Bluebird Care, you can expect:
- A competitive salary of £19,500 - £21,000 per annum.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- A supportive and collaborative team environment.
- The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our customers.
Additional Requirements
Please note that all staff are expected to meet regulatory training standards, and Care Assistants must attend and successfully complete initial induction training before providing care and support to our customers.
