Education and SEN Lawyer Role

Barnsley Council is seeking a highly skilled Education and SEN Lawyer to join their team. As a key member of the council, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of SEND matters, drafting local authority responses, and providing general education law advice to client departments and schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling a caseload of SEND matters, including drafting local authority responses and position statements.
  • Chairing legal planning and pre-hearing meetings to ensure effective case management.
  • Providing general education law advice to client departments and schools, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with a strong background in education law.
