Role Overview

The Systemic Therapist will be embedded within the Youth Justice Service / Prevent and Families Forward teams and will contribute to a service for complex adolescents currently being developed. The role will also involve supporting our residential services one day per week. You will join a collaborative and dynamic team of family practitioners, youth justice practitioners, mentors, residential home staff, healthcare specialists, and others who are deeply committed to improving outcomes for children in our borough.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapy and work on complex cases while developing our systemic practice model
  • Support staff in their work with young people and their families
  • Work with young people and their families in their homes and other community settings
  • Consult with team colleagues, other professionals, and foster carers

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have experience delivering systemic therapy with a wide range of young people and families. You will also have experience working with vulnerable groups in diverse ethnic communities. A good understanding of child development and a range of relevant interventions, approaches, theories, and legislation is essential. You should have excellent communication and collaboration skills, a can-do, creative attitude, and the ability to establish strong working relationships with all kinds of people, especially children.
