Physical Education Higher Level Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Education Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team in a vibrant school in Ashington. As a Physical Education Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the PE teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive PE lessons, promoting teamwork and confidence among students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the PE teacher in planning and preparing sports events and extracurricular activities.
  • Lead small groups in physical activities, promoting teamwork and confidence among students.
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of PE lessons, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Encourage students to develop their fitness, skills, and sportsmanship.
  • Work closely with staff to support students' physical and emotional well-being.
  • Provide tailored support to students with additional needs in PE sessions.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role or working in an educational setting.
  • A passion for physical education and promoting active lifestyles.
  • Ability to lead groups and manage behaviour in a positive manner.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in sports coaching or education.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service.
