Engineering Team Manager Opportunity

Premier Foods is seeking an experienced Engineering Team Manager to join our team at our Barnsley site.

The successful candidate will be a leader of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for delivering all aspects of output to standard metrics in an engaging and collaborative way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed, supporting a behavioural safety culture and escalating accidents and incidents in the appropriate way.
  • Take a clear leadership role during breakdowns, ensuring appropriate handover processes are in place and auditing work to ensure high standards.
  • Work with Operational Teams and Centre Managers to develop and drive maintenance of lines, improve quality, safety, and asset utilisation, working to agreed metrics and SLAs.
  • Actively work to optimise automation performance, support service tracking and analysis of error rates, and assist in the production of corrective action plans.
  • Set team goals, communicate long and short-term goals, and ensure everyone understands their role and the part they play in the team.
  • Effectively manage all personnel matters, including absence management, welcome back conversations, and dealing with instances of misconduct and grievances.

Requirements:

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering.
  • A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Able to collaborate and influence peers and senior management to drive progress and achieve desired results.
  • Previous experience in a management position.
  • Ability to manage people performance, coaching and development of a team.
  • FMCG or food management experience.
