At Vantage Consulting, we are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Specialist to join our dynamic team in Staffordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects across various industries, including Water, Power, Energy, Food & Beverage, and Pharmaceuticals. As an Automation Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for managing projects from conception to completion, delivering bespoke control systems solutions that meet our clients' unique requirements.

We are looking for someone with a proven background in a systems integration environment, with experience delivering projects in the mentioned industries. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider), SCADA system development, and MES integration. Additionally, they should have the ability to manage projects independently, adhering to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel to client sites as required, overseeing installation, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems. They will also produce high-quality documentation, including functional design specifications, test protocols, and user manuals. Furthermore, they will provide post-installation support and troubleshooting to ensure long-term system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full project lifecycles, from initial requirements gathering through design, development, implementation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Develop, configure, and troubleshoot PLC systems, particularly using platforms such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Schneider.
  • Integrate Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to ensure seamless data communication and process management.
  • Travel to client sites to oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of control systems.
  • Produce high-quality documentation, including functional design specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.
  • Provide post-installation support and troubleshooting to ensure long-term system performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven background in a systems integration environment, with experience delivering projects in industries such as Water, Power, Energy, Food & Beverage, or Pharmaceuticals.
  • Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider), SCADA system development, and MES integration.
  • Ability to manage projects independently, adhering to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.
