About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our Merchandising team as an Assistant Merchandiser. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing sales data to optimize product sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis: Use data to optimize sales volume and profitability of product areas.
  • Budget Planning: Support planning of budgets by category, option count, and depth of buy, based on overall business and financial goals.
  • Inventory Management: Control stock levels based on weekly sales and stock intakes.
  • Sales Forecasting: Review sales forecasts based on performance and action re-forecasts where necessary.
  • Trade Actions: Analyze and monitor best and worst sellers, using this information to make informed trade actions on a weekly basis.
  • Promotions and Rebuys: Recommend promotions and re-buys where necessary, using relevant data to make these decisions.
  • Margin Management: Monitor and maintain buying and gross profit margins as requested.
  • Team Support: Support the Merchandising Admin Assistant with administrative tasks and develop their skill set where needed.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Merchandising Experience: Experience working within merchandising, ideally as a merchandising admin assistant or assistant merchandiser for a similar retail business.
  • Data Analysis Skills: Ability to work at pace and analyze a high volume of data efficiently.
  • Technical Skills: Previous experience working with Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to look into the detail as well as the bigger picture, especially by working collaboratively as a team and being a team player at all costs.
