About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals in Eastleigh. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the tailored guidance they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism and social-emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and fellow SEN staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement tailored strategies to encourage positive behavior and active participation in learning activities.
  • Assist with behavior management, maintaining a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Adapt your approach to meet each student's unique needs, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting academic and emotional growth.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of behavior management techniques.
  • Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, including physical disabilities, language disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or special education.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with families and other professionals.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN strategies and best practices.
