The Role: Lead Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our dynamic Actuarial Data and BI team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in driving data-driven decision-making within our organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Spearhead the transition and automation of data flows utilizing Power Query, SQL, and SSIS.
  • Collaborate closely with reserving actuaries to enhance actuarial reserving models by rebuilding and maintaining data processes.
  • Develop and implement best practices for data extraction, storage, reconciliation, and change management. Mentor junior team members in these best practices.
  • Drive continuous process improvements within the Actuarial Data and BI team, contributing to strategic data development projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with external stakeholders and manage ad hoc queries and analysis from various departments, including actuarial, underwriting, finance, and risk.
Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience in the financial services industry.
  • Expertise in building data solutions, including proficiency with SQL Server, SSIS, Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
