About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Medicine Consultant to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our stroke services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based care for patients with stroke and other cerebrovascular conditions
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement stroke pathways and improve patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the leadership and development of our stroke services, including policy and strategy development
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives
  • Undertake teaching and training of junior colleagues and contribute to departmental and trust-wide education programs
  • Participate in an out-of-hours consultant rota and provide cover for colleagues during periods of leave

Requirements

  • Fully registered with the GMC
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT
  • Expertise in all aspects of stroke medicine
  • Ability to teach clinical skills to trainees and multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrable leadership and management skills
