Job Title: Media and External Affairs Director

At Serco, we are seeking a talented Media and External Affairs Director to lead our media and external communications initiatives. Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Director, you will collaborate with colleagues to elevate our brand and position Serco as a well-respected and trusted organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute creative external communication plans in partnership with senior leaders.
  • Form, maintain and enhance relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to our social media strategy and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Source and share impactful stories and case studies from across the organisation.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and strive to exceed engagement targets.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional written and communication skills with a talent for storytelling.
  • Proven track record forging strong relationships with the media and the ability to anticipate media angles.
  • Strong political nous, ability to offer considered advice and effective handling solutions.
  • Ability to engage successfully with stakeholders, influence their thinking and enhance the status of Serco.
  • Proficiency in leveraging social media channels and other digital platforms to convey key messages and showcase delivery.
