Empowering Learning is working alongside a Special Needs school, located in a supportive community, to provide the best education for children with complex needs and disabilities.


This role of an SEN Teaching Assistant plays a key part in achieving the school's goal of supporting exceptional children and ensuring they continue to excel despite life's challenges.


We are looking for a dedicated individual with experience of working in a similar role or willingness to learn and develop skills to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a Special Needs school.


The ideal candidate will have experience of working with young people with anxiety/mental health needs, profound and multiple learning difficulties, and using sensory strategies.


Additionally, the candidate should have training for moving & handling or a willingness to learn, as well as experience in the child and/or adult care sector.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Support students with complex needs and disabilities in a Special Needs school
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to deliver high-quality education
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support students' needs
  • Monitor and report on students' progress and behavior
