Electronics Laboratory Maintenance Technician

Based at the University of Manchester, we are seeking a skilled technician to join our team in a dynamic environment.
The role is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract, highly likely to become a long-term permanent position.
The successful candidate will work 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required between 9:00am and 6:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment maintenance and technical troubleshooting.
- Provide essential support to students and staff.
- Ensure the smooth operation of teaching laboratories.
- Prepare and maintain teaching spaces, supporting practical classes with a team.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- A qualification in a science or engineering-related subject or relevant technical work experience.
- Ability to carry out basic laboratory tasks, such as setting up equipment and apparatus.
- Interest in laboratory teaching equipment and experience working in a laboratory environment.
Manual Handling and Health and Safety:
- Experience with manual handling tasks and familiarity with practical, hands-on activities.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements, including risk assessments.
