Health and Safety Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Manager to provide ongoing support to our construction sites in the Birmingham and West Midlands region. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with site management, technicians, and client safety teams to drive health, safety, quality, and environmental initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with clients and internal health and safety teams
  • Overseeing and managing a small SHEQ team
  • Chairing internal site health and safety meetings
  • Attending client health and safety meetings
  • Supporting site teams on all health and safety aspects
  • Reviewing safe systems of work
  • Attending and advising during safe start meetings
  • Managing day-to-day health and safety activities on site
  • Conducting workplace inspections and reporting findings
  • Conducting investigations into accidents or incidents
  • Managing on-site occupational health
  • Coordinating training of project staff
  • Contributing to the maintenance of ISO 45001

Requirements include:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a busy site-based health and safety role within the construction industry
  • Effective communication skills at all levels with client-facing experience
  • Technical awareness and experience providing health and safety support in the construction/building services sectors
  • IT literacy and proficient report-writing skills
