About the Company:

A well-established business in Tameside is seeking a Junior level Commercial Finance Analyst to join their finance team. This role is a key position within the finance FP&A team, and the company values the work of the FP&A team, offering great exposure and development opportunities.

We are looking for someone with Finance Analyst experience who will support the FP&A team and collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights and enable them to make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Finance Analyst and excellent communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed financial analysis across various areas, including costs, variances, and profit.
  2. Maintain financial models and forecast revenues, expenses, and other metrics.
  3. Support various departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Ops, to provide financial guidance.
  4. Produce analysis on product margins, stock, and discrepancies.
  5. Evaluate the viability of new ideas, CAPEX investment, and projects.
  6. Ongoing maintenance of processes with the IT team to ensure best practice and optimize efficiency.
  7. Support the implementation and development of new systems and tools.
  8. Any ad-hoc reporting as required.

Requirements:

  1. Experienced as a Finance Analyst 1-2 years plus in the role or highly experienced.
  2. CIMA/ACCA early stage or part-qualified and looking to progress your studies.
  3. Experience in a multi-site set up, stock-based industry would be highly beneficial.
  4. Intermediate level of competency with Microsoft Excel and the Office package.
  5. Experience using Qlik Sense and Power Query would be beneficial.
  6. Solid knowledge of the workings of a Finance team, including best practice and working to strict deadlines.
  7. Essential to have a common sense approach to dealing with problems.
  8. Enthusiastic attitude to resolving issues.
  9. Ability to clearly express the issue and proposed solution when required in writing or verbally.
  10. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
