About the Role

An exciting opportunity has been created within the colorectal specialist nursing team at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. We are seeking an experienced Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team for a 12-month period.

Main Duties of the Job
  • To lead a comprehensive highly specialist nursing service for patients receiving care across the colorectal pathway.
  • Nurse-led clinics, utilising clinical examination skills, non-medical prescribing, and order of diagnostics investigations with management of results.
  • Overseeing and managing the CNS teams across the colorectal pathway, including non-medical roles.

As part of this role, you will work closely with the consultant nurse and multidisciplinary team to ensure a high-quality integrated service that meets local, regional, and national standards. You will also be responsible for providing expert patient care from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care within the rapid diagnostic and assessment unit.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RNI or RN12)
  • BSc/1st Degree or equivalent
  • Masters Degree, or equivalent experience
  • Successful completion of advanced assessment module/course
  • Mentorship Course or equivalent

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately £40,000 - £60,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
