About the Opportunity:

Wayman Learning Trust is seeking a talented and dedicated English teacher to join its team of educators. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the educational journey of students in a prestigious secondary school in West London.

Job Description:

We are looking for an inspirational English teacher who can deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success in teaching English language and literature, excellent subject knowledge, and the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, utilizing various teaching methods to ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively. They will also design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery:
    • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11), in line with the National Curriculum.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics, reading comprehension, writing fluency, grammar, vocabulary acquisition).
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
    • Provide students with clear, constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing, reading, and analytical skills (written feedback, peer review, self-assessment).

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum
