Behaviour Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join our team at an SEN School in Huddersfield. The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people with SEMH difficulties and be able to provide effective support to enable them to settle to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide behaviour support to children and young people with SEMH difficulties
  • Work effectively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement behaviour plans
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and reduce challenging behaviour
  • Support children and young people to develop social and emotional skills
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a school or similar setting
  • Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • GCSE English/Maths at grade A to C or equivalent
  • Specific training in interventions/SEN/SEMH
