Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
  • Design Deliverables: Ensure all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
  • Project Support: Contribute to and support the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support during the construction and installation phases.
  • Self-verification of work.
  • Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
  • Awareness of and ensuring that safety, health, and environmental requirements are implemented.
  • Assistance with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
  • Acting effectively as Discipline SQEP.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ancillary qualifications in Structural/Outfitting discipline subject.
  • Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
  • Proficiency in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
  • Experience in Design working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects (preferably naval shipbuilding projects/alternatively new build or major conversion packages).
  • BPSS clearance required.
