Transport and Logistics Director Opportunity

This is a unique chance for an innovative and visionary leader to join FM Conway as our Transport and Logistics Director, reporting directly to the board and collaborating closely with our existing Transport and Logistics Director. In this influential senior role, you'll drive the optimization of our logistics operations, champion cost-effective strategies, and enhance operational efficiency across the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and forecast workflow, manpower, and space requirements for logistics operations
  • Track and monitor key factors such as quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs
  • Resolve arising problems or complaints to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Manage and oversee the transportation budget, preparing and approving the department's annual financial plan
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and lead the development of safety training programs for staff
Requirements:
  • Relevant bachelor's degree in fields such as Supply Chain Management or Logistics, with an advanced degree like an MBA being a plus
  • Professional certifications, including those from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and CPC qualifications, are highly regarded, alongside process improvement and technology certifications like Six Sigma
  • A vast amount of leadership experience in logistics, managing large teams and global supply chains is essential
  • Key skills include strategic leadership, operational expertise, problem-solving, financial acumen, and proficiency in logistics software systems
