 Accounting and Financial Services Manager

About the Role

Our team is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting and Financial Services Manager to join our Nottingham office. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for collaborating with our manager team in various areas, including training, complex accounts work, and client-related tasks.

The primary focus of the role will be on championing the use of cloud accounting, specifically Xero, and helping to develop our range of Xero-based services. You will work closely with the manager team in driving projects forward and have the ability to work under minimal supervision.

We are looking for someone who has a strong focus on the benefits of cloud products, particularly Xero, and who has the enthusiasm and drive to help develop our services. You will also have the skills to help clients interpret their accounting data and provide innovative and long-lasting solutions to their accounting problems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the manager team in various areas, including training, complex accounts work, and client-related tasks.
  2. Champion the use of cloud accounting, specifically Xero, and help develop our range of Xero-based services.
  3. Work closely with the manager team in driving projects forward and have the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  4. Help clients interpret their accounting data and provide innovative and long-lasting solutions to their accounting problems.
  5. Train and mentor junior members of staff in bookkeeping and accounts.
  6. Have substantial accounting experience in practice, including preparation of statutory and management accounts, VAT, and bookkeeping.

Requirements

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (AAT/ACA/ACCA) and/or qualified by experience.
  • Experience in an accountancy practice and enthusiasm for working with a variety of client businesses.
  • Experience using Xero and cloud software.
