We are seeking an exceptional Medical Secretary to lead our Secretarial Team and deliver outstanding support to the Department and Management Team.

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a busy district general hospital serving West Cheshire and Welsh patients. Our services cover acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services, and obstetric services for a population of approximately 407,000.

Job Responsibilities

As a Medical Secretary Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating referrals and test results, ensuring timely distribution and logging within 48 hours.
  • Maintaining proficiency in dictation and transcription processes, verifying correspondence before distribution.
  • Distributing incoming mail, maintaining a comprehensive filing system, and providing administrative support as needed.
  • Liaising with admissions and appointments teams, prioritizing urgent and soon appointments.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • GCSE standard (English) or equivalent.
  • Recent secretarial experience and touch typing skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages and full range of secretarial duties.
Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary of £32,969 - £39,782 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits including professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.

Salary Details

The salary range for this role is based on the national NHS Agenda for Change pay scale for Band 5 staff, reflecting the demands and responsibilities associated with this position.
