About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Desktop Product Designer to join our team at Kingfisher. As a key member of our Modern Desktop Product Group, you will be responsible for designing and delivering new Technical Services for the Kingfisher group across a variety of Technical Services that fall under the Modern Desktop Product Scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-quality IT services that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Provide technical governance across Projects, BAU, and related SIPs.
  • Engage with wider designers and architects to achieve programme consistency.
  • Advise colleagues and customers on the feasibility and risks of potential solutions and support the creation of initiatives.
  • Manage and monitor workload through JIRA EPICS and Stories.
  • Define detailed activity and resource plans to deliver project and SIP outcomes.
  • Deliver new Technical Services as part of a Project team or manage 3rd-party services, delivery partners, and external vendors to deliver solutions.
  • Be an evangelist within the IT community, using Viva, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Feed into the products strategy, IT strategy, roadmaps, and standards, and engage with product vendors while maintaining IT and industry awareness as necessary.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working in a 3rd-line technical support role.
  • Experience designing and delivering a variety of Technical Services within a complex Enterprise environment.
  • Recognised as an SME for relevant Product Groups relating to the role.
  • Demonstrable feedback-driven approach to Service Design and Service Improvement.
  • Experience working within a large organisation with a globally disparate user-base.
  • Relevant experience working with managed service providers and third parties.
  • A 'Technologist' mindset, with a detailed understanding of vendor roadmaps, Group Technology roadmaps, business and industry challenges, and trends, with the ability to translate these into a roadmap or strategy to develop services.
  • Proficiency in Intune, Windows 11, Autopilot, PowerShell, and Modern Management.
