About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Urgent Treatment Centre within Watford General Hospital.

As an Emergency Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing the health and clinical needs of patients, using your minor injuries clinical skills and expertise to diagnose, treat, refer or discharge patients. This role will include face-to-face consultations, supported by a variable rota covering weekdays, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Carry out consultations with patients, taking a comprehensive patient history and physical examinations to identify potential diagnoses.
* Decide on and carry out treatment, referring to primary or secondary care specialist services within local agreed pathways and protocols as appropriate.
* Provide clinical advice and mentorship to junior clinical staff.

Requirements

* Registered Nurse or Paramedic qualification leading to registration.
* Evidence of degree-level study or equivalent.
* Evidence of completion of study in minor injuries and x-ray interpretation.
* Independent non-medical prescriber or able to work with PGDs.
* Ability to work autonomously.
