The Role
At Hoare Lea, we are seeking an exceptional Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading electrical services design on large projects and overseeing MEP on small to medium-sized projects within the office. You will act as a technical electrical lead, successfully dealing with clients and other professionals, and have a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical services design on large projects and oversee MEP on small to medium-sized projects
- Act as a technical electrical lead and successfully deal with clients and other professionals
- Have a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design
- Define and agree brief with clients, competently represent Hoare Lea at project meetings, and manage and prioritize the workload of a project team
- Contribute to the professional development of individual team members and actively lead self-identification opportunities for career development
- Monitor project expenditure and report to the team leader, ensuring quality standards and technical accuracy are delivered
Requirements
- Excellent technical knowledge in Electrical Design Engineering and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design
- Previous consultancy experience, with an appreciation of complementary specialisms such as sustainability, intelligent buildings, fire engineering, and acoustics in the design of buildings
- Able to lead small to medium-sized projects and take a brief from the project lead on large projects and deliver and control the tasks required
- Appreciation of client needs, with the ability to face clients, understand and identify resource needs, and mentor and supervise junior members of staff
- Chartered engineer or close to depending on grade
