Project Management Lead

We are seeking an exceptional Project Manager to join our team at the National Physical Laboratory, working on a broad range of projects related to tackling the climate emergency. As a key member of our Earth Observations area, you will be responsible for delivering projects that have a significant impact on the world we live in.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and organized Project Manager with excellent communication skills who can manage medium complexity projects for government or industry partners independently. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully leading and managing projects for multiple stakeholders, with experience in change management, risk management, and budgeting. A competitive salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience, is on offer.
About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading on projects with stakeholders across the globe, including R&D and commercial projects within the UK government and industry, as well as European and international collaborations. You will deliver projects on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards within our governance framework. Our Project Managers work closely with our exclusive PMO portfolio office, who provide resources to help on projects and quality templates to ensure all our projects are managed to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities
* Manage medium complexity projects for government or industry partners independently* Develop and apply project management processes and tools, and continually improve* Lead on projects with stakeholders across the globe, including R&D and commercial projects within the UK government and industry, as well as European and international collaborations* Deliver projects on time, to budget, and to the highest quality standards within our governance framework* Collaborate with our exclusive PMO portfolio office to access resources and quality templates
Requirements
* Track record of successfully leading and managing projects for multiple stakeholders* Experience in change management, risk management, and budgeting* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence positively* Ability to travel both inside and outside the UK* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project (training available)
