Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced artistic director to lead our festival and events programme. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and drive the success of our charitable objectives.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering our annual festival, The John Hewitt International Summer School, and will play a central role in managing our events and operations. This includes working alongside the Trustees and Programming Committee to source and book speakers, performers, and events, as well as developing and implementing business plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a programme of events across multiple venues and days, including festivals and arts events;
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, including funders, agents, community groups, and venues;
  • Liaise with and manage contractors and temporary staff, including volunteers, PR, marketing, and design teams;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need at least 2 years' experience of managing events, strong partnership working skills, and experience of budget management over £100k. You should also have a full driving licence and access to a car.

Benefits

This is a fixed-term post until December 2025, with the possibility of extension if funding allows. The post holder will work primarily from home or remotely, with some travel required to facilitate events. Annual leave is 25 days, plus bank holidays.
