About the Role

Caterpillar (NI) Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Global Solutions Engineering Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical engineering products that meet customer specifications and ensure superior performance, best cost, durability, quality, and serviceability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design of controls and protection for generators, motors, and related equipment
  • Take the technical lead on projects with respect to the electrical design
  • Prepare submittal documentation for projects and meet with customers to discuss project requirements and review submittals
  • Provide direction to other engineers in the development of project drawings
  • Review and approve project drawings
  • Participate in the training and career development of new designers
  • Assist with product testing and/or evaluation when appropriate
  • Assist with the development and updating of procedures, design guides, and instruction manuals
Requirements
  • A University Degree in an Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Experience in leading electrical design projects such as electrical installations, including design through to build and validation
  • The ability to create and interpret engineering drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and technical documentation
  • Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Experience in the use of AutoCad, ePlan, or similar drawing packages
