About this Opportunity

Globe 24-7, in partnership with a leading global listed mining company, is seeking a highly skilled Exploration Geology Lead to drive the evaluation and development of mineral projects. This role is based in London, UK, and the company is open to supporting relocation.

The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Exploration Geology Lead with expertise in mineral resource and reserve techno-economic evaluations, financial analysis, inorganic growth, mergers and acquisitions, and mining. This key role involves identifying and evaluating mineral projects to assess their geological credibility and economic viability, ranking opportunities for investment and development. Working independently and within a multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to the company's growing portfolio of growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify high-potential and high-quality mineral deposits for investment opportunities.
  • Lead and conduct mineral project due diligence with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support potential acquisition opportunities.

Health and Safety Leadership

  • Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety, rigorously following all protocols.
  • Foster a safety-first culture, encouraging proactive safety practices within the team.
  • Conduct risk assessments for mineral projects, identifying hazards and developing mitigation strategies.

Project Evaluation and Feasibility

  • Identify and evaluate critical mineral projects, performing high-level techno-economic due diligence reviews.
  • Review development and exploration-stage projects globally.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews with both internal and external partners to identify strategic resources.

Economic Analysis

  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis of mineral projects, including cost estimation, revenue projections, and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate project viability and support investment decisions.

Market Research

  • Conduct market research to understand trends, demand, and pricing dynamics of critical minerals.
  • Provide insights to inform investment strategies and attend relevant industry events.

Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management summarizing project findings, financial assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of project goals.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and external consultants, project developers, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • Expertise in financial modeling, project valuation, and risk management in mining.
  • Familiarity with mining software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac) and proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in critical minerals exploration and project evaluation, with a focus on copper, nickel, lithium, manganese, and related metals.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Geology, Geoscience, Engineering, or a similar technical field is required, with a Master's in Geoscience preferred.
  • Qualifications in financial analysis and valuation of mining properties are highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with a focus on safety.
  • Self-motivation, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
