About the Role

New College Swindon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Safeguarding Officer to join our dedicated team. As a Senior Safeguarding Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide expert pastoral support to students, developing personal resilience strategies and acting as a Deputy to the Safeguarding Manager.
  2. Maintain accurate records of student activities and provide guidance to staff on safeguarding procedures.
  3. Support the Safeguarding Team in allocating safeguarding referrals and providing intensive interventions to students.
  4. Act as a primary contact point for staff with concerns about students, providing guidance and support.
  5. Ensure the effective use of lanyards and ID badges to manage access to the college.
Requirements
  1. A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Safeguarding.
  2. Experience working in Safeguarding, Child Protection, Youth Work/Justice, Social Services, or Counselling.
  3. Knowledge of referral systems and high standards of communication and organisation.
