We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Configuration Technician to join our team at ZipRecruiter. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for our Maritime Command HQ (MARCOM) and NATO flagship systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and systems on board NATO flagships.
  • Ensure the day-to-day system administration of hardware and software, including configuration control data reporting.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to resolve system faults and provide technical advice on hardware and software.
  • Perform beta testing of new system software versions and provide feedback to the System Manager.
  • Assist in shore-based system administration services for various command and control information systems.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in administering, testing, and deploying applications at both server and user levels.
  • Recent experience with functional applications within Windows and UNIX in a large-scale service-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of database principles, database administration, and SQL.
  • Experience of working within a customer support environment.
  • Maritime C2 Systems training courses or experience working with Maritime C2 Systems.
  • Good working knowledge of IT hardware and auxiliary computer equipment.
  • Experience of Configuration Management and Service Asset Management.
  • Knowledge of current Windows and UNIX/LINUX operating systems and common Windows desktop applications.
  • ITIL Foundation knowledge/ITIL certificate.
  • Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with proven post-related experience.
