Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to support our team in delivering high-quality learning experiences for our youngest students.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the class teacher to create a positive and engaging environment, assist with individual learning needs, and ensure the well-being of every child in their care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging activities and lessons that meet the needs of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
  • Provide individual and small group support to children, promoting their development in language, social skills, and early numeracy.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that fosters a love of learning.
  • Support children with their personal, social, and emotional development, and assist with observations and assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff members to support children with special educational needs and those with English as an additional language.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children at all times, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children in an Early Years setting is highly desirable.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when necessary.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with young children and their families.
