About the Role

The Director, Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs – Europe is a key position within Dun & Bradstreet's Compliance and Ethics department. This role is responsible for monitoring policy, legislative, regulatory, and judicial trends affecting our business model and strategy across European markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and Global Compliance and Ethics leadership to identify and communicate public policy and legislative/regulatory monitoring priorities for Europe.
  • Develop Dun & Bradstreet's policy position statements to address European market priorities and needs, and communicate these to key external stakeholders.
  • Identify, catalog, and monitor all regulatory registration and reporting requirements across European markets, and coordinate inputs and preparation as well as internal reviews and approvals.
  • Develop predictions for expectations and risks associated with European public policy objectives and outcomes by European regulatory agencies, and ensure that these are maintained on our risk register.
  • Interface directly with various European regulatory agencies to facilitate the review and approval of regulatory applications and to address queries.
  • Represent Dun & Bradstreet in global policy associations, such as the Centre for Information Policy Leadership and the Information Accountability Foundation, and coordinate D&B representation in industry and trade associations across Europe.
  • Provide content guidance for regional regulatory documents and meetings in accordance with global strategy.
  • Support the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer in managing global public policy and regulatory affairs strategy through the GCE Regulatory Affairs Forum.
  • Write clear and well-evidenced policy papers, submissions, consultation responses, briefings, and letters.
  • Track and analyze significant policy discussions, legislative, judicial, and regulatory developments, and stakeholder activities that affect our business.
Requirements
  • 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in public policy and/or regulatory affairs, ideally in data-related policy and regulatory matters.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree is preferred), with a degree in Law, Science, or Economics being preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in public policy and/or regulatory affairs, with a working knowledge of privacy, data protection, and/or consumer protection regulation.
  • Experience working as a member of industry and trade associations, and ideally in leadership roles in such associations.
  • Comprehension of regulatory needs for the EU centralized process, as well as alignment between the EU and the UK.
  • Ability to engage to collate information and efficiently drive projects through to accomplishment to tight timelines.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, and proficiency in communicating strategic and tactical issues to management.
  • Works well under pressure, capable of effectively managing many concurrent and shifting priorities.
  • A team player that recognizes both the importance of individual contributions and lifting and enabling others to higher levels of collective success.
  • Exceptional analytical and assessment capabilities.
  • Able to resolve issues with the capacity to think both strategically and tactically to optimize outcomes.
  • A high attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend and balance the needs of both external and internal stakeholders to communicate effectively to each group.
  • Multilingual skills are strongly preferred.
