Anson McCade is seeking an experienced Automation Test Lead with active SC clearance to join a dynamic delivery team in London. This role offers the chance to provide technical leadership and contribute significantly to the testing process within a collaborative software engineering environment.

This role is hybrid; however, you must be available to attend the office or client site in Stratford 2-3 days per week, with occasional flexibility for increased onsite presence.

Role Overview

As an Automation Test Lead, you will work closely with an engineering team, applying your expertise to build robust automation frameworks, define quality metrics, and ensure optimal test coverage and efficiency. You will also take ownership of designing test strategies, driving automation practices, and mentoring team members to maintain high-quality software delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of automation frameworks for front-end and back-end systems, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Leverage tools such as Cypress (for front-end) and JMeter (for back-end), including Cypress React automated component testing.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts, stubs, drivers, and test harnesses with a focus on maximizing efficiency and coverage.
  • Define test approaches and strategies, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex systems, identifying and resolving issues through effective problem-solving.
  • Measure and report system quality metrics, leveraging tools like AWS Jira and other test management platforms.
  • Identify and automate opportunities across build, release, testing, and continuous integration workflows.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £600-£650 per day (Inside IR35, based on experience). You will also receive a hybrid working arrangement, with 2-3 days onsite per week in Stratford or Bluefin London office.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Expertise in automation tools and frameworks, particularly Cypress, JMeter, and React component testing.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD integration for automated testing workflows.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with a proven ability to handle complex testing scenarios.
  • Knowledge of programming tools, techniques, and best practices, with the ability to mentor and guide other team members.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
