Locum Consultant in Psychiatry for Adults with Learning Disabilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in providing specialist community psychiatric care to adults with learning disabilities in Pembrokeshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our learning disabilities service.
Main Responsibilities- Provide specialist community psychiatric care to adults with learning disabilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care
- Contribute to the development of our learning disabilities service
- Participate in clinical governance and audit activities
- Engage in teaching and training activities

Requirements- Eligibility to hold an Honorary Academic title at a partner university
- Experience in providing specialist community psychiatric care to adults with learning disabilities
- Leadership and management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Broad-based experience in psychiatry across the range of sub-specialties
- Knowledge of UK hospital systems and clinical governance
- Competence in managing acute psychiatric presentations
- Expertise in the treatment of mental disorders in people with learning disabilities
- Experience in conducting research and publishing papers
- Ability to teach and train medical students and junior doctors
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and research
