Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Patent Attorney to join our Intellectual Property team in London. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a deep understanding of patent litigation and related advisory work.


About the Role


This is a business critical position that involves handling complex patent cases and providing expert advice to clients across various sectors, including life sciences, advanced manufacturing, technology, financial services, higher education, retail, and energy.


Key Responsibilities



  • Handling patent applications in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical fields, involving complex technologies;
  • Working on matters in the broader chemical and/or high-tech field, with a strong client-focused approach;
  • Building and expanding relationships with high-profile clients;
  • Collaborating with colleagues in an agile environment to achieve business objectives;
  • Exercising good commercial judgment in patent litigation and related advisory work;

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A first degree in a scientific discipline or technical discipline (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering);
  • Significant experience of handling patent applications in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical fields, involving complex technologies;
  • A strong enthusiasm for gaining greater experience of the practical and technical elements of patent litigation;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to exercise good commercial judgment in patent litigation and related advisory work;
