Regional Equipment Maintenance Technician

The RNLI is seeking a Technical Operations Specialist to join our Coastal Maintenance Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing Lifeguard equipment, Lifeboats, and launching equipment across North and East. You will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and defect repair on Lifeguard equipment, Lifeboats, and launching equipment.
- Conduct trials of existing and repaired equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Collaborate with Lifeboat Station Mechanics, Lifeguards, Contractors, and other technical staff to achieve shared goals.
Requirements:
- A time served mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic engineering.
- England, Wales & Northern Ireland NVQ level 3, Scotland SVQ Level 5, Republic of Ireland NFQ Level 5 minimum or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Full driving licence and willingness to work out of hours and travel extensively throughout North and East Region.
