Lifelancer, a leading talent-hiring platform in Life Sciences, Pharma, and IT, is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team as an Associate/Senior Editor. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in electrical and electronic engineering who are passionate about science and engineering and have a critical eye for high-quality research.
Key Responsibilities- Handling original research papers and working closely with other editors on all aspects of the editorial process, including manuscript selection and peer review.
- Making well-reasoned editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts in the light of expert advice.
- Determining the representation of electrical and electronic engineering in the journal.
- Liaising extensively with editors at other journals in the Nature family and with experts in the international scientific community.
- Attending conferences and visiting research institutions to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
- A PhD (or equivalent experience) in electrical and electronic engineering or related areas, including power systems, energy infrastructure, energy modeling and management, and/or telecommunication systems.
- Experience with applied computational methods and machine learning is preferred but not essential.
- Postdoctoral research experience is preferred but not essential.
- A thorough understanding of the fundamentals of electrical and electronic engineering is essential.
- A passion for science and engineering and a thirst to learn more about the latest research in the field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and fluency in English (written and spoken).
- The ability to read and assess the context and implications of research submitted to the journal from different areas of electrical and electronic engineering.
- Eagerness to travel and meet scientists worldwide to learn more about their research and help them learn more about Lifelancer and our publishing goals.
