Job Summary

Isisekelo Recruitment is seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations. As the head of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the food preparation process, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest quality of dishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation and Management
    • Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes to ensure exceptional quality and presentation
    • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies to minimize waste and optimize efficiency
  • Team Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing kitchen team
    • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure they meet their job requirements
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards
    • Implement and maintain HACCP procedures to minimize foodborne illnesses
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and manage kitchen budgets to optimize profitability
    • Monitor and control food costs to minimize waste and optimize efficiency
  • Communication and Leadership
    • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and customers to ensure seamless operations
    • Lead by example and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in all aspects of kitchen operations

Requirements

  • Experience
    • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Head Sous Chef in a hotel environment
  • Skills
    • Exceptional culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
    • Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and develop a high-performing team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with staff, management, and customers
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
