About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Buyer to join our team at Poundland & Dealz. As a key member of our category management team, you will be responsible for purchasing and supplying products within our range, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for category performance, identifying opportunities and threats, and resolving issues with the broader category team.
  • Purchasing and supply of products from conception to the bottom line, ensuring they are in line with current and future trends.
  • Cultivating and nurturing relationships with suppliers to offer customers amazing products at unbeatable value.
  • Negotiating costs and delivery timescales aligned with company budget and KPIs.
  • Visiting factories to develop ranges, negotiate costs, and explore new markets in developing countries/economies.
  • Liaising with Merchandisers on sourcing products meeting promotional and seasonal activity requirements.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience as a Buyer.
  • A degree or equivalent would be desirable.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good numeracy and Excel skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload.
