About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst Health Plan Specialist to join our team at VDart Inc. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PDF accessibility, Section 508 compliance, and healthcare business systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough assessments and remediation of online PDFs to ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and guidelines.
  2. Use Adobe Acrobat PRO/PAC3 and NonVisual Desktop Access to confirm compliance and make remediations as needed.
  3. Track work requests in JIRA.
  4. Collaborate with coworkers to find solutions to technical problems.
  5. Collaborate with development teams, designers, content creators, and project managers to provide guidance and recommendations for implementing PDF accessible design and development practices.

Requirements:

  1. 4-year degree or equivalent technical experience.
  2. Any PDF remediation-related professional training/certification.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in Adobe Acrobat PRO/PAC3, online color contrast analyzers, and using screen readers such as NonVisual Desktop Access.
  4. High level of comfort with repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on precision and accuracy.
  5. Attention to detail.
  6. Knowledge of WCAG 2.0/Section 508 accessibility standards and best practices as they relate to PDFs accessibility.
  7. At least 2 years of hands-on experience remediating PDFs in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  8. The hands-on remediation experience should include working with forms and complex/nested tables.
  9. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and accessibility requirements to diverse audiences.

Tools and Skills:

  1. PAC3: Able to run PDF checks, view results in detail, cross-reference PAS3 failures with specific PDF content, and resolve specific PAC3 failures using various Adobe PRO toolsets.
  2. Adobe Acrobat PRO: Able to run Adobe's accessibility checker on a PDF, interpret the results of a check for remediation needs, remediate each type of issue regardless of the type of failure, and navigate between the various views of the accessory tool set.
  3. NVDA: Able to read PDF content end-to-end, read sections, levels, and bookmarks only, pause and resume, and cross-reference PAC3 failures with the screen reader feedback and confirm applied remediations.
