About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced School Cook to join our team in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals for students in accordance with school guidelines and dietary requirements.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a diverse and appealing menu that meets the nutritional needs of students.
  • Ensure all meals are prepared and served on time, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Monitor food inventory, place orders for supplies, and manage the kitchen budget effectively.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen workspace.
  • Accommodate special dietary needs and allergies, providing alternative menu options as required.
  • Foster a positive and welcoming dining atmosphere for students and staff.
  • Collaborate with school administrators to implement and update menu plans based on feedback and nutritional guidelines.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Teach basic cookery skills to students if extending to a full-time position.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school or similar environment.
