About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at a RCVS accredited small animal first opinion practice in Hertfordshire. The ideal candidate will be confident with routine procedures and consultations, with a varied caseload of both consults and surgeries.
The Rota
- Full-time: 40 hours per week over 4 days, with a fixed day off (option for 5 shorter days if preferred)
- 1:6 Fridays off for full-time vets
- Saturday mornings: Currently 1:5, max 1:4 (potentially 1:6 with a larger team)
- No out-of-hours
- Part-time hours considered for the right candidate

Requirements
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVSc/BVM/BVS or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Membership with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in the UK (or equivalent governing body in other countries)
- Practical clinical experience through internships, placements, or work experience
- Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Proficiency in routine surgical and medical procedures
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
- Ability to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of animal health conditions
- CPD (Continuing Professional Development) commitment to maintain skills and knowledge
- Ability to work well in high-pressure environments and make critical decisions
- Competency in using veterinary practice management software and diagnostic tools
